Seems like every six months I feel it coming on. I used to get a cold more often than I do now, and I also used to fill my body with those expensive medicines at the first sign of a common cold. Now, I find that when I do get a cold I can try some common cold remedies and they really do work. What's more is that when I stick to the natural cold remedies the cold itself feels more bearable. I don't know how your body reacts to medicines, but mine doesn't tend to like them. My stomach gets upset and I feel almost sicker when I take strong cold medicines. Now I stick to the common cold remedies and I get better much quicker.

Drinking Tons Of Fluids: There is nothing that helps get over a cold faster than a body filled with liquids. Filling your body with fluids lets your body properly defend itself.

Rest: Getting tons of rest is just as important as fluids. Your body needs the energy to fight off the bug, so give it the rest it needs.

Lubrication: Give your throat lubrication by sucking on some throat drops. Further, give yourself some moist lubrication from a humidifier. Humidifiers soothe your passageways. Also, use saline nasal drops to cleanse and sooth your nasal passages.
